"I've said it before, I'm bulletproof."

The Halstead family were well known within the first responders of Chicago, Will Halstead, Jay Halstead and their younger sister Ella Halstead.

Will was a doctor at Chicago Med, Jay a detective in the Intelligence Unit at District 21 and Ella a firefighter and paramedic at Firehouse 51.

Trouble seemed to follow the Halstead's wherever they went, from an abusive father, to losing their mother to cancer and the trauma that came with their jobs.

If one thing was associated with the family it was danger. Jay and Ella were constantly injured or in harms way in their line of work.

Ella had had her problems since she was a teenager, diagnosed with ADHD at 12, Generalized, Socialized and Panic Anxiety Disorders at 14, anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa and mild depression at 15.

Now three years clean of self harm and an eating episode, her life finally seems to calm down, met with surprise after surprise she learns to roll with the waves that is life.

How bulletproof can a woman be?

"It must be the constant bubblewrap I'm swaddled in."
