Aric Starling stood slightly shorter than his eldest brother. Similarly to the rest of the males in his family, Aric boasted hair that was nearly silver in color but more tousled than the other males. It was slicked back into a sophisticated style with what appeared to be pomade. Aric Starling was slender in stature and donned with an obsidian ensemble. I made note of a golden ring on his left thumb as I watched Aric twist it with his forefinger. His eyes were a piercing blue that came across as cold as the winter's ice. Aric stood tall as his eyes fixed on the wall behind his family. At the sound of Rowan's snicker, Aric's body went taut. Sensing my presence within the room, Aric furrowed his brows.
"May I be excused now? I have made my required appearance." His voice was smooth and low with a hint of frustration coming through his features.
With a sharp nod from his father, Aric wheeled himself back out the doors he had just come through. It was at that moment that I realized, Aric Starling had not glanced in my direction once. A twinge of aching hit my chest at that realization. I did not impress him.
