Upon looting a rusting apartment complex, Ellie finds another girl trying to do the same thing; survive. What a coincidence that Joel happens to know her. But Ellie, sweet ol' Ellie, can feel her heart racing. Was it from the sudden attack? Or the feeling of love?
Was it still possible for love continue on after the world has just ended? Would everything else matter more if love still existed? What if there's no one else that feels the same. I'll die looking for an answer.

Ellie found traveling with Joel to be both rewarding and simultaneously frustrating. It was like talking to a cold, emotionless brick wall sometimes. So imagine her excitement when they run into another group of travelers heading in the same direction, and they agree to travel with Ellie and Joel. The most exciting part? The other group has a girl their age. This is essentially a Ellie/Reader slow-burn fanfiction. It's also a fix-it fic in regards to the Last of Us Part 2 because I have personal issues with it.
