Katniss Everdeen was a legacy. Born into a family that had won The Hunger Games four times, when Katniss' name was called for the 69th Hunger Games, everybody knew she would win, and she did.
She won the Capitol's hearts, even the cold-hearted President Snow. She was then selled, not as much as her family members, and other Victors, but to the point where no Victor would suspect favoritism. Katniss also gained the attention of Finnick Odair, who tried everything to gain Katniss' love but was always turned away.
Then came along the 73rd, and 74th Hunger Games, where her little cousin and sister were called respectively. She volunteered for both, moving the hearts of the Capitol and becoming the richest Victor alive.
But now comes a rebellion, one where District 13, and Victors, wanted Katniss to represent them, but the Everdeens wanted nothing to do with the rebellion or President Coin.
"You're different from what I expected," she said softly.
"How so?" he asked, glancing at her.
"I don't know," she replied, searching for the right words. "You just... have this way of making people feel like they matter. Even here, in this... nightmare."
He was quiet for a moment before responding. "You matter, Y/n. Don't forget that."
