The Academy of Shining Light is the best school in the world where the students who go there are sorted into groups of five and are to compete with other groups to become Shining Lights. These are the most powerful magic users in the world and even if you don't pass you still have a bright future all by just getting into the Academy. So it seems like Astra, Noah, Kathrenn, Jenne, and Kai's lives would be turning up when they received the acceptance letters but with a prophecy that they are going to become Blinding Sights, evil people who use their magic only for themselves, they have to convince everyone that they are good. If that means saving the top student from a curse set by another Blinding Sight, helping a young girl discover her real powers, or saving another classmate from their own abilities they are willing to do it. All the while another threat looms in the background, themselves.

I had my first experience last month and it was truly disappointing and I would argue life changing -- I no longer see the average grown adult with the same respect as I did before writing this fic. And honestly, my impression of the community prior to writing this fic, fairly intelligent, and they really were a cross section of the general public. But as when I started writing this fic, I was truly astonished at my writing and how impressive my brain power is. And I can sense how that experience has seeped into my psyche and is polluting my ability to trust people, and I have become more suspicious of the true motivations of those around me. I literally cannot tell if I was just naive before and am more realistic now, or if I was realistic before and have become cynical now. This does not define my political views, and who I am today. I am 16 years old and finally will have a life out the home I have know for so long. I will be going to a school. The leaders of our city will be picking which school I fit in. Except these school aren't what they seem to the naked eye. They involve monsters no one ever thought real. Vampires, Werewolves, Witches and Shape-shifters. How can I survive learning about these things daily for my whole life?! But, the thing is I won't be learning about them to just...learn. I will be finding out about these creatures because...I am one. New friendships brew while enemies start to boil. Some friends become more than friends. Then some turn on her. She's different. Now, a young witch with a past to hide, tries to live a peaceful life in solitude, but yearns to attend the new mage academy. After a long period of laying low, fate would call upon her once again, this time in the form of a peculiar masked stranger from a faraway land. A/N: I started writing this as lore for my original character and it spiraled into a whole new universe with new characters. I don't really read much, so my partner helped a lot in terms of brainstorming and editing. It's written for fun, so have fun reading!
