I waited for him to call me a faggot, to curse me off and tell me he never wanted to see me again. Instead, I was greeted with his perfect toothy smile. "That's great man, I'm of proud you." He says, patting my arm as he stuffed another cracker in his mouth. "It takes some real balls to come out to someone." He says, his beautiful green eyes blazing into mine. I felt myself become flustered at his gaze. "Uh, Yeah, Thanks." I stumbled out, "You're not mad?" I ask. His expression turns to hurt as he crinkles his eyebrows. "Why the hell would I be mad?" He asks, hesitating on the crackers and pushing them away. "I just thought-it's just- well... you just always seem so pissed when someone mentions the word gay." I spit out words, scared for his reaction. He sighs, "That doesn't fucking mean I hate gays. Normally when I do that it's because someone's using the word 'gay' to hate on them, it just pisses me off, you know?" He asks, bringing the crackers back into his lap and biting into them. "Plus-" He adds on, "You're my best friend, if anything, you being gay is a blessing. I'll always support you." He says, glancing at me through the side of his eyes. I look away, towards the door to hide the crimson blush that I feel spread over my face. "Thanks." I all but squeak out. I grunted slightly and swiftly grabbed my glasses, pushing my homework off of my chest and shoving my legs into a pair of skinny jeans. I grabbed my shirt and pulled it on, making sure the sleeves covered my hands so I'd have something to hold. I brushed my teeth while putting my things into my back pack and kissed my mother in a a family photo before darting out the front door, and spitting both my toothbrush and the left over bubbles in my mouth onto the grass, I'd have to pick it up later. I ran out to the mail box and waved good by to my horse Smokey's small grave stone, reaching the bus just in time. My day went by as usual. I barely got through most of my classes staying dead silent through out. People would try to interact with me but all I could do was grunt at them. If only I could actually say "Speech Impediment" maybe they would stop talking about me. Some how the usual group of jerks found out I was gay and told everyone. This life sucks. I got into fifth period and Mr. Schmidt looked at me. I froze, Oh hell no. I started to shake as he told me to read. I know he had a speech impediment too, but it was embarrassing to turn down such a request. "Read the next two pages" such an easy sounding task is it not?..... He stepped to me and I froze. Did I mention that my language arts teach was the most beautiful man on earth and his pink collard shirt was clingy?! I guess not. Art Class With My Enemy
I've never gotten along with Gage since he acted like a jerk to me for rejecting him as a child. Unfortunately, I'm constantly around him because he's my best friend's brother's friend. What's worse is that during my junior year in high school, I was stuck in the same art class as him because the school cut the dance classes.
