She loved her family but was feeling apathetic now. She had been taken for granted, disregarded, and used if not manipulated and she was angry! Not at them but at herself for having allowed herself to be treated like that. 
She had stretched herself and burnt herself out. That none of them, intelligent and capable individuals, as they were, had the common sense nor willingness to collaborate with her, was no surprise. Why would they invite trouble for themselves! 
Well, it was time for a disruption. 
She takes off on a trip to get some solitude and recover herself.
