Ares Shin is a first-year highschool student at a school which hosts children who have been diagnosed with a particular ailment, known as Incongruent Manifestation of a Neurological Event- or Imne. As he finds himself faced with the fact that he lacks the ability to be thought about at all- his presence holding less importance than passerby to even his family and friends. 

1 out of 10 afflicted will succumb to their ailment, unless they can be successfully rehabilitated. The problem is this: Every Imne is different, and therefore the cures and treatments vary.

Here he meets Reille, a student who has lived there much longer than the rest of their peers and claims to have an incurable Imne, as she guides him through the world and the lives of those afflicted with Imne, he reflects upon how his ailment may be a gift as he joins Reille in helping to rehabilitate their classmates.
