As the fourth child in a family of ten, she understood fully what it meant to be independent and could say that another name for independence is inconsequential. However, a day decision lead to an increase of the school's tuition fee to a multiple of the original. Harida was barely paying the old fees with three cutthroat jobs.

She joined the students who thought a protest was the answer, and when they ended up getting shot at, she realized that that was the end of her dreams. However, she meets a stranger on the way back home who offered her a security job in a new country. Her parents would not allow her leave in such manner, not when they were still traumatized with a child they had let go.

Harida knows that the job isn't safe but she's willing to take the risk. However, she noticed after being assaulted by her coworkers that she hadn't signed up for a regular job but something bigger than her. For everywhere she turned was violence and everyone she saw was a walking secret.
