Starla has a destiny, which she'll remind anyone who does or does not ask. She is an Ice Princess, a magical sorceress blessed with the power to keep the ever-advancing Winter at bay. At least, that's what she's SUPPOSED to be after a lifetime of rigorous training. However, just a year shy of embarking on her heroic journey, her life as she's known it shatters. In an accidental display of ice magic, a poor city girl named Rayna outs herself as the true Ice Princess. Amid royal scandal and Winter's intensifying cold, Starla is forced to put her jealousy and hero complex aside and train the new girl. To make things more complicated, Rayna doesn't seem to really identify with being a girl, much less a princess. As Starla and Rayna grapple with the pressure of impossible expectations they can't meet and suffocating roles they didn't ask for, can they form an unlikely alliance and prevent a frozen catastrophe?

From birth, Trinity saw the world differently than her peers. Not that she knew much of her peers in her childhood as she was home-schooled. However, that's all in the past. She has her own business, works hard and all-in-all, she's happy. For the most part, that is. As long as she still has her seclusion for which she has worked hard and values above all else, then she will be fine. If people would just stay away... Leah has been blind her entire life but never let it hold her back as she embraced it with open arms. She hasn't ever known any differently and life is great. Or at least, it could be with these new changes. Moving to a new town, Leah is excited to begin a new life, but her family isn't exactly shy about their protectiveness of her. If only she could be somewhere, anywhere where people would treat her just as they would anyone else. As their paths cross, Leah and Trinity's lives are forever changed, some changes for the better and others still up for debate. People can sometimes surprise us in the most exhilarating of ways, however, and they are just about to find out exactly why. Alchemy has always been a key to understanding the universe, yet it has often been dismissed as mere superstition. The truth seared through my veins like scorching heat, igniting every cell of my being with a searing, uncompromising judgment. I sacrificed everything-my strength and sense of identity-chasing after an overwhelming purpose. Duty and conviction waged a war against a primal yearning for freedom, unleashing a maelstrom of emotions that threatened to tear me apart. This internal hell fueled an insatiable, maddening lust for vengeance, obliterating my moral compass and propelling me toward utter destruction. Only when I made a final decision did the fundamental principles of morality seem to slip through my fingers like grains of sand. Each savage blow against the oppressive system left me questioning: am I a righteous crusader, or a monster consumed by hatred? The poisonous doubt gnawed at my mind, suffocating my thoughts with insidious whispers. Yet, I found the strength to silence them. With fierce determination burning in my veins, I vowed to break free from the chains of oppression or die trying. Fear would not hold me captive any longer. As I teetered on the edge of life and death, I couldn't help but wonder: would I emerge victorious or succumb to the relentless wheels of fate? The answer lies shrouded in the mists of an uncertain future, but one thing is irrefutable: win or lose, every decision will ignite an inferno of change. This cataclysmic revolution will raze the old world and herald the birth of a new era. In this cosmic roulette, even the most steadfast warriors can turn to dust in the blink of an eye. Therefore, are you willing to participate? Given that there always was, is, and will be war. Hope stands stronger than fear, yet anything is possible when darkness lingers. It is the deflection of accountability and guilt. Yet when all seems lost, trust that the butterfly knows where the water flows.

"You don't really like to open up, do you?" The words startle me, seemingly jagged and impure in contrast to the light and beautiful atmosphere we were in. "I didn't say that." Asher snorted, "You didn't have to." I was quiet for a moment, looking out to the beach and resting my cheek on my knee. "It- It's not that I don't like to," I struggled to find the words good enough to explain. "I just think, maybe, I don't know how to anymore." Asher stares at me for a moment, eyes filled with an emotion that I can't put my finger on. I turn to face him properly, almost gasping when he appears much closer than I remembered. Before I can turn the moment into a joke, he speaks. "Well, if you ever want to learn again, I'll always be right here, Willa. I'm always right here." * Willa Montgomery didn't expect to be uprooted for her last summer before college, but two weeks in, here she is: Santa Monica, California. Willa hasn't had the best life as of recent, and with the impending damage of her parents messy divorce getting harder and harder to avoid, her mom decides the best place for her to be is anywhere but home. Enter Sylvia Edwards, Willa's mother's best friend since middle school, and Willa's godmother. Sylvia is more than glad to host Willa for the entire summer, opening up her beautiful home to her immediately. And with that beautiful home comes the beautiful Asher Edwards, and a whole bunch of memories Willa wasn't even aware she had. Living in a house with Asher, the sweetest yet most persistent guy to exist is both heartwarming and dangerous all at once, because soon enough, the barriers Willa spent years building around her fragile heart are coming down- and fast. Willa had never realized how frozen she was until Asher started to melt her ice. With eyes like oceans, a smile like honey and a touch like heaven. cover by @stylesoftimothee
