Eclipsed

Celeste is being trained well to exceed the throne from her father when the time is right. Her country Sol is divided between the Jubars, the narcissistic royals who are privy to the finer things in life, and the Umbras, who keep the country afloat with their labors, but don't get the respect that they deserve.

When Celeste's father is murdered, she is suddenly kidnapped by a mysterious faction. Cale, the leader of the faction, refuses to let Celeste return to her proper place before she is trained to defend herself, fearing she will succumb to the same fate as her father. To avoid suspicion by the royal family, Cale replaces Celeste with Ophelia, a lowly Umbra who shares a striking resemblance to Celeste.

Celeste can't seem to uncover Cale's motivations making her all but trusting of him. Ophelia must keep her identity a secret, while Celeste and Cale are forced together to uncover the mystery of who killed the king. What the faction didn't expect was for Ophelia to be plunged into a world of suitors, having six weeks to choose a king and assume the throne.
