Cassia Blue, certified social pariah and content loner. She hated everyone of them, every single student who roamed her school, except for one. Noah Thomas, the gentlest boy, a soft-spoken stuttering ball of a mess but an otherwise, fiercely intelligent and endearing one.
She didn't know why he was an exception to her burning hatred for mankind, her revulsion towards relationships, just that he was, and it irked her.
_______
"Ever thought your hate towards others just makes you seem all entitled and prideful?" Morgan asked, cigarette caught between her acrylic nails, green eyes that glittered dangerously. She blew out smoke and Cassia coughed discreetly. "A total spoiled brat?"
"I have no reason to care what they think of me,"
Cassia murmured in return, her voice indifferent. And it was true. For she knew in friendships there was bliss, in interactions there was satisfaction. But those were fleeting, and ultimately, selfishly, the only person who mattered was herself and her survival. No people, no expectations.
"Except for him," Morgan drawled out knowingly.
Cassia didn't need to look up to realise where Morgan was darting eyes at.
She knew, couple of yards away, Noah was nose buried into his latest novel, dark hair falling into his eyes and a rosiness to his cheeks.
Always the exception.
As he looked up, as if sensing their gaze, he caught her eye and blushed fiercely as if it were the first day they met.

Fallon's sole ambition in life is to escape her miserable hometown once and for all. She dreams of driving away in her convertible and leaving her painful past behind.
Just one problem, her beloved convertible needs a serious overhaul before she can drive it anywhere, and car repairs cost money, a lot of money. The kind of money she doesn't have.
Archer Hastings moved to town last year. He's quiet, perpetually brooding, and always has a hood drawn over his head. He's the school outcast, a recluse. He also has a knack for resurrecting hopeless vehicles.
