No Longer Fading (Shizuka Marikawa x Male Reader)

A year after the apocalypse began, Y/N has been surviving on his own, constantly scavenging and mapping any area around him. He also has a strange ability to "Pacify" and "Talk" to "Them" which has aided him greatly in surviving. However, he is beginning to question the reason for his existence as he did not develop that ability until after he lost his family and feels like he's 'Fading'.

One day, he wonders if he should take his life. Suddenly, a group of survivors arrive and convince him not to do it. After taking them to where he's been living and giving them the layout of the city, Shizuka Marikawa, a former nurse, insists that Y/N join them. Y/N remembers his family's words being that he should survive and keep moving. Y/N agrees and starts traveling with the group. Slowly, he begins to feel like part of a family again. Soon, something blossoms between Y/N and Shizuka as she helps him realize his power is a gift. He no longer feels like he's 'Fading'.
