Tim tried to close the void, and failed. The void was only shut temporarily for it to just tear again and monsters from within walk the overworld on the prowl to stir things up effecting the war between greater demons and archangels greatly.

Octaveus was depressed. He knew it, but no one else did. He hid it, just as he hid his scars. He wasn't human either; he hid that too.
