Darkness is a sanctuary, a chrysalis where shadows cradle what light would expose. The moment it fades, light pierces through, alluring like a flame to moths, until it scorches and devours their fragile wings.
I would rather retreat into my dark chrysalis, where the world cannot glimpse the truth I hide, where my essence remains veiled, untouched by the cruel gaze of the light.
