Stephanie Darasimi Ajayi is a 27 year old freelance interior designer in Lagos, Nigeria. At that age, with no prospective husband, everyone starts to bother her about finding a partner, but no one seems to get that she is trusting God's timing with her future spouse. He has promised her that He has someone for her, but she has to trust His timing.

Omotayo Jayden Williams just turned 30. Although he owns a thriving restaurant, his mum has decided not to see past the fact that he is not married and seems to have no desire for women. Why can't she understand that he just needs time to heal from his last relationship and reconnect with God.

They meet in a not-so-pleasant way at a friend's wedding and seem to keep seeing each other around. Coincidence?... I think not. Come on this journey with Stephanie and Tayo as they seek to put God first while navigating this thing called life.

"Are you really upset with me? I was joking.... o de ti binu beyen (and you're already angry)" he chuckles.
"Jokes are supposed to be funny, Tayo." I reply with an unimpressed look.
"Alright, I'm sorry." He walks up to me and with his arms wrapped around my waist and my back to his chest, he whispers slowly delivering gentle kisses to my neck "Ife mi, ayo mi, eni okan mi (my love, my joy, the one who owns my heart), please forgive me for teasing you about your hair" I giggle at his attempt to win my forgiveness even though we both know that I wasn't really angry.
Turning to face him, I'm in awe by the fact that this is what my life is now; engaged to this beautiful, God seeking, loving, intelligent man, I'm nothing short of blessed.
God really does keep his promises.
"Forgiven."

Hard Man by adetayo_first

Although no one knew it, Desire was struggling. It was highly unbelievable because as a top worker in one of Lagos' most exclusive and influential night clubs, she was making thousands every night. All her other friends were living large, and building houses, so why couldn't she? Her father had died five years ago, leaving them drowning in a sea of debt. Her mother was sick, and couldn't do anything, so from an early age Desire had had to wear the mantle of responsibility. A twenty six million naira debt was on her neck, and for five years, Desire had consistently been paying it off; while simultaneously keeping a roof over her mother's head, and saving up money for school. Salvation came at last; but in form of the hardest, most handsome man she had ever laid eyes upon? General Babalola Halal. He was offering five million Naira for a whole month of exclusive sex. Pure, undiluted gratification. It was her job, and this offer was coming on a platter of gold. Even more tempting was the fact that it was the exact amount needed to be free of her father's debt. Completely. But he was hard, and demanding, and excruciatingly virile. Accepting this posed a risk far greater than millions. The stark reality of losing everything she stood for, and gaining nothing in return because a man like this never gave anything of himself. He was rich, five million Naira meant nothing to him. But she knew what she was getting into, she knew how addictive his touch was, and how hard it was to stay sane around him. Could she do this? Was losing her sanity a price she was willing to pay?

"I'm going to take care of you and the kids, Grace." Oh. I just...I get this feeling within me that just warms me throughout. "You already are, Joe." "I know, but I mean in a different way. I've been doing that as an outsider. I'd like to be a part of your family." "Joseph...you've been a part of our family for years. We've never thought of you in any other way." It's the truth. His eyebrows raise and he stares at me for a while. Then he nods. I smile gently and he kisses my cheek again then gives me a smoldering look. "Thank you." He brings one of my hands to his lips, pressing a kiss to it, his eyes still fixed on mine. My breath catches with the intensity there. "I love you, Grace." The sincerity in his words are as clear as day. All at once, I feel so incredibly grateful to have him in my life and I find tears springing up. His gaze softens as he sees them. Ordinarily I would try to hide this obvious sign of vulnerability, but I don't. There's no reason to with him. "I love you too." He smiles gently and then turns his head towards my hand still on his face, pressing a tender kiss to my palm. ~~~ This is an age gap interracial (bwwm) Christian romance that involves Joe, a widower, and Grace, a widow of six years and family friend. Joe has just lost his wife and Grace is there for him as he works through a grief that she is unfortunately familiar with. As the years go by and he continues to heal, their friendship develops into something more.
