Having put aside the differences between them, both humankind's empire and the elvish states have come together in many ways. Some start businesses together, venturing into the world of economics. Very few have fallen in love, creating children with elvish and human blood. Many have shared a drink under the light of the stars in open-air taverns that spring up around the town.
If anything, Compass is a testament to the ability for all races to come together. Reaching for the North Star, Polaris itself, with each other.
A child born from the union between human and elf, in the comforts of high society, finds herself dissatisfied with this vision of Compass. To her, the city speaks in a different tongue, one that does not follow the illusion surrounding it. People do not live together; they merely exist parallel to the other person. She has lived her life hiding from the eyes of society, alone in a house of nobility. Years passed in her life, years full of shame, grief, and loneliness. Losing her home, her status as a noble, and the family name, she ventures out and discovers more than she ever knew about the city.
