The main thing about being the only Blue Moon Child for the next five thousand years was making sure the delicate balance between Underworlders and Ordinaries was kept by all means possible, even if it meant maiming and killing offenders. Ryan Rider doesn't mind becoming the next monster hunter around if it means getting her job done. What she does mind, however, is getting her already very occupied life even more occupied. Ryan finds herself forced to work closely with the notorious Alan Knightwood, who also turns out to be a giant pain in the ass, besides being arrogant, disturbingly powerful and unfairly good-looking. However, a situation Ryan has never been exposed to arises and, despite her inability to die, she needs Alan to survive this dilemma. She knows, without question, that her constant and close contact with the most powerful and feared vampire alive could either be the best thing for her, or the worst.
