Dahlia Cynthia Baird has lived her whole life in district 13. She begins this story believing her name is Hazel Coin until recent rebellion in the districts leads her to the truth. She is originally from district twelve, and is a descendant of Lucy Gray Baird. This is something she hasn't been told for her own protection. President Coriolanus Snow is out for her blood. He wishes to have all relatives of Lucy Grey dead, including her. In an act of rebellion from the lies she has been told her whole life, Dahlia escapes district 13 to visit her original district during the 75th annual Hunger Games. However, she is quickly recognized by peacekeepers who take her to Snow. In the hopes that she will die, President Coriolanus sends Dahlia to the Hunger Games arena as a new contestant for district 12. Will Dahlia make it out alive?
