Humans and demons have been thrust into a weird and tumultuous world and relationships. Now, as they try and live in peace. But most humans do not want the demons around, nor do they want them to have a voice in society.
For Briar, her life has been hard. She's been trying to protect her sisters, Ruby and Skye. But it seems that every human they run into is vile, and seeking their deaths. And so, after a gruesome attack in their own home, they join a demonic resistance.
But when one of her sisters is brutally murdered, it ends up driving her other sister a bit mad. So, she leaves the new resistance to try and make her own way in the world. Alas, though, Briar then finds out that her sister is now murdering scores of innocent humans. So now, Briar has a choice.
Does she end her sister's tyranny? Or should she allow this to happen? After all, the humans have never done anything to help them. So why should she save them? But when she meets a human, one who is kind and loves her, truly loves her, she realizes she must make a few messy choices.
What will Briar do? Will she save the mortals, or allow most of them to die by her sister's hand?
