In front of the cinema, they stand waiting for the movie to start.
Looking are watching the people pass them.
Each deep in thought, standing so close yet so far.
She stands hugging her arms about her shivering in the cold.
Nevertheless, inside the stirrings of heat.
She looks up to see him watching He walks closer and leans over
He whispers in her ear, "Are you cold?"
She nods at him afraid to speak.
He walks behind her, reaches out and pulls her into his chest.
She curls into him, back into his arms.
The love she feels for him, exploding inside of her.
The electricity between them flares.
Nothing ever felt so right for her.
However, she steps away for he belongs to another.
Turning to look into his eyes, wishing she could tell him.
Stepping into the cold once more.

The Tears I Learned to Love is a collection of poems that explores the complex journey of love, loss, and healing. From the fiery passion of first moments to the silence left by absence, this book is about the deep ache of letting go and the quiet strength found in rebuilding.
