"When you're lost in the darkness.. look for the light." That's what his father always told him, you'd guess it made sense, with both his parents, his sister and him being Fireflies.

Not that he really had a choice, when your parents are Fireflies, you're mostly just born into it and you just don't know any different.

One day, three days after his birthday his parents and his sister left, his father told him that they needed to go on a mission, something so important that it could not be put off.

So a ten year old Jesse was left with a woman he had grown up to call his aunt, but she got caught and handed the boy over to her friend, Tess Servopoulos.

Ellie found traveling with Joel to be both rewarding and simultaneously frustrating. It was like talking to a cold, emotionless brick wall sometimes. So imagine her excitement when they run into another group of travelers heading in the same direction, and they agree to travel with Ellie and Joel. The most exciting part? The other group has a girl their age. This is essentially a Ellie/Reader slow-burn fanfiction. It's also a fix-it fic in regards to the Last of Us Part 2 because I have personal issues with it. Will involve spoilers for both games, but this is mostly a self-indulgent fic. The reader is unnamed and has no descriptors so pretty much anyone can be the reader.
