Through the roots of Drayk, an inconceivable power flows through every living being in the world, a power which the society has grown to see as a danger and a probihited act, which causes people who are able to control this power, those called Variths, to be searched and killed, as if they were monsters.

Xanthe is one of the most searched and "dangerous" Variths in the country. Caspian is owner of a tavern, ex-member of a circus and expert in theft strategies and plans. Aldrich is the General of the Knights from Drayk; and Kalisha is the princess and heir of the monarchy of King Chlothar.

All of them do not seem to be connected, but after a party held at the palace, their lives will never be the same again thanks to a new danger being unfolded along with mysteries showing up from being buried in time and the truths of an almost exterminated society.
