Before humanity, many people believed in the existence of angels and demons. The Almighty created angels to protect all living things. Peace and harmony did not last long, however, because of the deeds of one specific angel who called himself Lucifer and desired rebellion. The terrestrial and cosmic revolution was the name given to it. They recognize the fallen angels there and then. One of the fallen angels seemed to have been given a second chance, but he could only change his fate if the mission were successful, the only opportunity to enter paradise.

"And think not that you can direct the course of love, for love, if it finds you worthy, directs your course". Khalil Gibran Simon Riley wasn't a religious man and never believed in angels, but he definitely believed in demons. He'd met them personally. Now essentially dead to the world, he existed, haunted by the demons of his own tragic past, so the idea of there being any goodness left in the world, was an abstract concept that only seemed to apply to other people. As far as he was concerned, the curse that had tainted his whole sorry life, meant that he never would have that opportunity to experience anything other than pain and sorrow. So when the universe, in it's warped sense of timing, finally thought it appropriate to bring him an angel, his negativity and suspicious nature, almost allowed it to pass him by. This work was originally meant to be a short story inspired by "Cry of a Banshee by Blackbriar". However, it merged into another story arc I was writing, and grew from there. Sensitivity warning - story does have some dark elements of violence and talk of suicide.
