At four years old, Chris was the youngest kid to arrive to Camp Half-Blood. He was quickly accepted at camp, and seen as a little brother by pretty much every camper at the time, despite remaining unclaimed by her godly parent. But this young Demigod finds himself struggling with not only his Demigod heritage, but also who he is as a person, as he realizes that he's in fact not a boy at all. Follow Chris, soon to be Alicia, on her journey of self discovery as she grows into girlhood, and deals with both loss and unrequited love, all while being forced to go on a quest she wants nothing to do with. And to make the quest even worse? It's with the girl she loves, and the boy she suspects will soon be the new apple of the eye of said girl. What could possibly be worse? This will be an Annabeth Chase fic, with a trans girl as the protagonist, assuming this wasn't at all obvious by now. As a trans woman, this fic is going to be far closer to my own heart than any of my other fics. It's made as a tribute to the PJO fandom, as a story of representation and personal growth to show an entire new generation of half-bloods coming from the new TV show, the love and inclusivity the series is known for. And as a way for young people to realize and accept that it's okay to be different. That it's okay to not fit within the majority, even in a camp already inhabited by kids seen as different and a minority by society at large. Even then it's okay to be different.
