Chuuya gets transferred to a new boarding school in his third year. The school is of an elite and prestigious class where rich and snobby students of aristocrats and business-men study.
But there is always a darker side of every picture and in this case its darker than black itself. Bettings, drugs, rapes and teenage crimes are rampant in the whole school and there is no one to question their activities.
And the rumor is that the one who lead all of this is someone called Osamu Dazai- the student council president of the high school.

Once partners and lovers in the Port Mafia, Dazai and Chuuya spend the next four years away from one another. Soon, a series of kidnappings and murders start to take up Dazai's time as Chuuya is being assigned to gather information on a possible spy in the Port Mafia. After Dostoyevesky's death having Dazai nearly witnessing the death of all of his friends, he finally has an actual change in heart. Despite that, he's plagued with horrid nightmares of everyone dying and all because of him. As always he can't seem to get away from Chuuya either with him being the focal point of every nightmare and it did have an impact on him. Dazai realises he in fact holds strong feelings for the short ginger man. Naturally, of course when one side of double black changes so does the other.
