Crossing Boundaries

Emily Summers is a successful woman in her mid-twenties. She is multifaceted, determined, and a fiery character for most of her older years, which her young self would have never envisioned herself growing up to be.

She's been in the city for most of her older years since she left her humble hometown for college, and because of her busy life, she's lacked connections with the people from her past.

Suddenly, her brother calls her to inform her of his sudden marriage to a woman she's never met before.

She's given two tough choices: to show up or stay put.

Behind one of those choices, she's afraid of whom she might see after all the years since she'd left their small town, and with the other choice, having her left with the condition of turning her back on the one person who had hers when they both went through the most challenging time of their lives.

Unfortunately for her, fate has a way of bringing together all the people she's ever loved into her life again. Even the boy, now a man, that she liked growing up, her best friend, who was bound by a stupid list of rules that he used not to dare cross when they were young.

Here's to wishful thinking, But maybe everything's different now that they're older.

Maybe this time, boundaries can be crossed.
