Lohri is a folk festival celebrated in northern India, marking the harvest of Rabi crops and the end of the winter season. This usually occurs in the month of Pausha. It is believed that worshiping the Sun in this month brings special blessings. This festival of Lohri is celebrated just one day before Sankranti in almost all parts of India.

Lohri festival is celebrated with great enthusiasm and grand celebration mainly in Punjab and many states of North India. Celebrating the beginning of the harvest season with the Lohri festival is an ancient tradition.
