Al-Haitham hums, sitting back in his seat. His eyes get that look they always do when he's thinking- at least that had stayed the same- before he put his hands in his pockets. "You can stay with me, if you'd like," he says all too casually as he pulls a hand back out his pocket. "For the time being," he adds on a little too quickly, "until you manage to get yourself out of the mess you've made." Kaveh was about to open his mouth to protest. Like he'd ever take an offer from him, especially with that attitude. They eventually start to date but recent fights and arguments lead them to separating, never knowing if they'll come back together again. Kaveh always wondered about that fateful night at Lambad's Tavern. It was where he was found by Alhaitham after all. They had been estranged for years after their massive fight. What cosmic prank brought them back into each other's existence that night? Years later as roommates and entering an eventual courtship, Kaveh yearned for more as he felt something was missing. But felt he was to blame. He found himself wondering at times many what-ifs. The biggest one of course being; What if Kaveh never came home with Alhaitham? How would their lives shape themselves then? Fate has a strange way of showing they listen, don't they?

Alhaitham and Kaveh are standing outside, Kaveh frozen in what appears to be shock or fear and Alhaitham with his usual apathetic look on his face. "Preferably out of earshot of anyone," she continues, "But certainly out of the range of my hearing and not at my office door."
