This Path We Chose

Luffy, the new Pirate King, the one who was supposed to lead the new generation of pirates. To inspire them. Yet he had failed. He had died in this war he couldn't stop from happening. He died in this war because he wasn't strong enough, wasn't ready enough. He took on his dream, inherited the legacy of the King of Pirates too early, too inexperienced not in adventures, but time. He was too young.

So as he died on the battlefield that day, that day pirates would cease to exist.

He had expected and welcomed death with open arms that day, he knew the end was inevitable. He knew he had no choice, not anymore. That day he expected to die and go to wherever he would go after dying. He wasn't afraid anymore.

Yet he landed back in time.

He was in the body of his seven year old self. He traveled thirteen years back in time. This time, he was sure, he could save everyone with this unexpected second chance.

This time, he could choose which path to take. He could save his friends. He could save everyone.
