This is a Lethal Company fanfic.
James had got a new job. Finally. High paying as well. The only sketchy thing was the interview, over the phone. Sounded like an AI voice. But who cares, right? It's a job, and he got it! Space travel included. Could it get much better? He'd finally be able to leave "the coffin". Maybe even get off planet for good. But who exactly had hired him? And for what purpose?
So, yeah, this is a fan fic because I love Lethal Company, the game. So I wanted to write a story about someone who started working for The Company. Collecting scrap in abandoned buildings on alien moons and selling it to the monster in the Company building. I thought it could be fun. :) Enjoy!

A Number of Wrong Turns
Being given the task of investigating Nevada's bordello's should be the dream job of any young man. But Faré isn't an ordinary young man and this particular brothel has more than lace behind the curtains. The clientele isn't human, but then, neither is his girlfriend, employer or closest friend; he's not a bigot. The problem is that the bordello is being operated by the Andskoti, a group of aliens who don't have the best of intentions for the human race. They're also strong, smart and the fact that they look human makes catching them a whole lot harder. That's a lot to land in the hands of an 18 year old. Fortunately, he's only expected to find them; once he has, Linith, Rheda and Ayjer can come in and clean house. But there is a snag in the plan. Faré has the worst kind of luck. (This was a semi-challenge on my part, to see if I could write a short story. I set myself a target of 7000 words and... failed miserably. I once got a phone call from the guy I sold my truck to. He told me I had left a notebook under the passenger seat in my car, and later dropped it off at my house. While I have had blackout drunk nights, the notebook remains a mystery as to how it got there, or who wrote it. It's poorly written on blank pieces of paper that are held together by two clips. Some of the pages have grease stains on them, and others are bent, but it is none the less a treasure. In it's worn pages are the pure unaltered thoughts of a tormented stranger, hunting something supernatural he called Ganama. I don't know where this man is, how he's doing, or even his name to be honest. What I do know is this man lived a life of adventure, hardship, ultimatums, and terror.
