James and Alo are no strangers; many say they have a ''thing'' in middle school. They always say that they're just ''friends''. Even if Alo wanted to be more than just friends, her heart would burst whenever James entered the room. Alo couldn't picture James liking her because she was different from the rest of the girls; no one would choose her, or even like her, for that matter, she believed. So she kept how she felt a secret from James. Their relationship started falling apart after that one conversation. Soon after they graduated, they never spoke again.
Seven years later...... Alo can't forget about the past. It's been seven years in hell. She shouldn't think this way because many good things have happened, but worse things have happened. She just wanted a way out, but the universe gave her a second shot, and it is challenging to keep continuing, but she's determined to have a better life for herself because she deserves happiness.
On the first day of her spring semester of college, she was walking inside the science building for her first class when, out of nowhere, she was pushed backward, tripping and falling on the floor. Getting herself up, she looked up to the person who had pushed her and wished she could be anywhere but there because looking at her was James.

I am not very good at trigger warnings before individual chapters but there is mention of blood, cold abuse and parents divorcing. (But read at your own risk in case I mention something else.
