In the land of Een, the Myth, a power that protects the world, is dying. Guardians that once protected the Myth’s elemental magic in their hearts are being hunted by Waywards, a group of 12 wizards who are trying to keep the power and magic of Myth to themselves.
The only way to kill a Guardian is to take its heart for your own. By doing so, you gain the power of the Guardian who represented that specific element.
Aiden, a young wizard, has the Heart of a Guardian. However, once he gains his new heart, he begins to lose his humanity, forgetting what it truly means to be human. The only thing he truly remembers is Bane, his childhood friend and partner who betrayed him, by forcing the Heart of a Guardian into him against his will.
With Claira, Aiden will journey to the Summit of the Alpha mountain of Theal to find Bane and end him. On his adventure, Aiden will be able to find himself, a part of him that he lost with gaining his new heart.
Little does Aiden know he is the only thing stopping the Waywards from taking over the world; in his new heart, he carries the Guardian of Light’s undying flame.
