what happens when you put the previous winners of the death games- sorry, life series, into another game, but this time, instead of their normal group of friends, it's very different people from whom you would normally see..

The Hermits are back for Season 8 and some of them have been playing in a death game called 3rdLife. But the ending was a lot harder to cope with for one of them. Can Grian cope with the guilt slowly overtaking him? Will he be able to ever look Scar in the eyes again? Meanwhile, Scar seems his happy self. That slowly changes when his beloved pesky bird seems to avoid him. Aka, Grian doesn't want to make the same mistakes, but does. And Scar tries to figure out why things have changed. Grian was getting used to the safety of the Hermitcraft server quite well. He still had bad days in which all the memories of his high school life came back to him and ate away at his mind. However, he also had good days, when he could spend time with his friends and live happily, normally. On one of his bad days though, he finds a white bunny with a nametag reading 'Sam' wrapped around it's neck. It was an accident, surely, probably part of Stress's shenanigans. Probably just a coincidence that the handwriting spelling the name looked like someone else's... someone from Grian's past. But Grian wasn't thinking of what it probably was when he ran. But it turns out, running has consequences. OR Samgladiator joined the game A YHS/Hermicraft fanfic, involves very mild Grumbo shipping but you can read it as purely platonic if that's what you want. Trigger warnings are: death (not permadeath), knives, stabbing, abuse, fighting, manipulation, PTSD, Sam being Sam, blood and general angsty stuff. Don't worry though, it has a happy ending!
