Silverkit is what is considered a mistake by all cats around her.
Even her father.
And for what? A mistake that her father made.
Her father had fallen in love with a Shadowclan cat, and when she had Silverkit, he had agreed to raise her and tell the clan that he had adopted her.
But when his secret is leaked to all the clans, he thoroughly regrets even seeing Silverkit's face.
As he decided that he does not want her to "burden" his life anymore, she is given up to be adopted by any of the clans.

(I cringe at this every day now. It's not too horribly written, but it is rushed and disorganized. Please know this isn't a representation of my current work.) Two kits, same pelts, opposite souls. Blessedkit, born to ShadowClan parents, discovers quickly that he is quite "special" in the eyes of his Clanmates. His brother, Rottenkit, is presumably a filthy-hearted cat who would have become a murderer if he had been allowed to be, and therefore was murdered in the womb by StarClan. And now, Blessedkit's become the unwilling celebrity of not just ShadowClan, but all four Clans. As time progresses and Blessedkit is driven further to madness by the constant unwarranted praise of his Clanmates, it's eventually clear that StarClan made the wrong choice.
