Nyanjura wants to be alone. Actually alone. She doesn't want to talk to anybody, and she doesn't want anybody to talk to her. She doesn't want to make friends, like her parents suggest, and she doesn't want hugs, or to talk about her feelings. And she definitely doesn't want to listen when her parents try to talk sense into yet another politician that space is not a trash belt.

When her parents leave her in a room full of other children ("you can play together") while they accept more empty promises, she's had enough. She sneaks out and hides in the storage room of an empty spaceship.

But the spaceship doesn't stay empty and while she's asleep, it leaves port. In the middle of space, she's discovered by two family friends. They try to notify her parents, but the communication systems fail. At first, Nyanjura is relieved. But the adults don't leave her alone. They try to return to port, but their navigation systems also fail.

And then Nyanjura's epileptic seizures get worse.

And then reality starts breaking apart.

If Nyanjura can't learn to trust and rely on others, she'll have no way to trust what's real. And then she will truly be left all alone, in the vast and cold emptiness of space.

Hopefully coming in 2025, if I can complete it offline by then! Details still subject to change (eg. epilepsy representation, as I continue researching).

18 parts Complete Mature
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Jenna is quiet and distant but has a passion for streaming. But then, one day when she falls asleep in class, she has a strange dream of waking up in a magical place that...almost felt like a fantasyland and then once she blinks it's all gone. Determined to find out what it is, she finds someone who's also been dreaming about the same thing. And so the both of them go on a mission to figure out what they keep dreaming about. (Edit: Never mind about the "blinking and it's all gone" part, this kind of "dream" is endless) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Heather, on the other hand, is a social butterfly, she gets along really well with others, is really sweet, and can light up the whole room with just her bright smile. She prefers to speak English most of the time, however, will speak Spanish if the moment's right. Heather is the popular girl, she knows how to host a party and how to party, how to bake sweets, and has over a million of friends. She's also really rich too and lives in a mansion with her mother and sister. One day, Heather had fallen asleep in class because of a party she attended the day before, and had a dream about waking up in, what seemed to be, a fantasyland. She became determined to find out what the dream meant, and then she met someone who was having the same dream as her, and so the both of them made it their mission to find out why they're having these reoccurring dreams...oh yeah I forgot to mention, she's not very fond of Jenna, since they didn't really have a good start. (Edit: She speaks English throughout most of the story. But, spoiler alert, she speaks Spanish in the final chapter and in one of the bonus chapters.) (Edit 2: I lied.) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ⚠️TW!!⚠️ Mention of Depression Mention of Graphic violence Mention of Substances ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ (P.S. Cover Art not by me! And also I'll be updating this slowly now. But I hope you enjoy it anyway! :3)
Outcasts by KatJWarren
52 parts Complete
Cassidy lives like most other under 21s - she follows the law. She knows that if she doesn't, she risks being taken away. Rebellious behaviour cannot be tolerated under any circumstances, especially with her parents watching her every move. The rules have been in place for a long time - the Democrats have beaten the Republicans in the New Elections for the past 60 years, with their names being the only recognisable aspects of their parties when comparing to the past. Anyone that chooses not to follow the rules can drop out and become what's known as an Outcast, but then you risk being imprisoned. While America seems to be running perfectly under these laws, a rebellion is stirring among the professionals. With secrets and lies in government and families alike to change the future of America forever, Cassidy finds herself caught up in the middle of the all out war that is about to break out. What she thought she knew about her world is about to change forever, bringing everyone she knows down with her. DISCLAIMER 2016/2017: This book is a few years old at this point, and due to the political uproar in American in 2016 I feel the need to make this abundantly clear. Outcasts takes place in a dystopian world in an undetermined year in the future, and the political parties depicted in this story - the Republicans and the Democrats - are in no way, shape or form a commentary on their real-life counterparts. I had very little knowledge of American politics when I wrote this story, and if I could go back and change their names I would. Throughout the story you will read of absurd flaws in both party agendas, and in no way did I ever intend to shame or defame the real life Republican and Democratic parties of America. See them as purely fictitious - that's what they are, after all.
