Nyanjura wants to be alone. Actually alone. She doesn't want to talk to anybody, and she doesn't want anybody to talk to her. She doesn't want to make friends, like her parents suggest, and she doesn't want hugs, or to talk about her feelings. And she definitely doesn't want to listen when her parents try to talk sense into yet another politician that space is not a trash belt.

When her parents leave her in a room full of other children ("you can play together") while they accept more empty promises, she's had enough. She sneaks out and hides in the storage room of an empty spaceship.

But the spaceship doesn't stay empty and while she's asleep, it leaves port. In the middle of space, she's discovered by two family friends. They try to notify her parents, but the communication systems fail. At first, Nyanjura is relieved. But the adults don't leave her alone. They try to return to port, but their navigation systems also fail.

And then Nyanjura's epileptic seizures get worse.

And then reality starts breaking apart.

If Nyanjura can't learn to trust and rely on others, she'll have no way to trust what's real. And then she will truly be left all alone, in the vast and cold emptiness of space.

She's also really rich too and lives in a mansion with her mother and sister. One day, Heather had fallen asleep in class because of a party she attended the day before, and had a dream about waking up in, what seemed to be, a fantasyland. She became determined to find out what the dream meant, and then she met someone who was having the same dream as her, and so the both of them made it their mission to find out why they're having these reoccurring dreams...oh yeah I forgot to mention, she's not very fond of Jenna, since they didn't really have a good start. (Edit: She speaks English throughout most of the story. But, spoiler alert, she speaks Spanish in the final chapter and in one of the bonus chapters.) Until scientists found a planet only couple light years away that is a sister planet to Earth. No one has ever been on this planet before and is unsure what will people find there. So on the year B18, all children born within that year were taken from their families and sent into a spaceship to be trained and prepared for the landing of this new planet. Samantha and her squad are flying through space and preparing themselves both mentally and physically for the adventures of this new planet. No one knows what is going to happen when the spaceship lands on this foreign land.

He reared back but not enough to separate us. His hand flashing to my arm to still us and then he froze. I thought for a second, based on his lack of response, I had picked the wrong time. Or maybe he had changed his mind from two days ago. I went to pull away, flushing lightly with embarrassment. I didn't get to disconnect our lips before he unfroze and reacted. His grip tightened, his other one going to my hair to hold my head in place as he kissed me back with more intent than I even had started with. My body flushed for a different reason now.

It's divided into three main sections, the city, the framlands, and the Lowers. The people are divided into three groups as well, Uppers, Middles and Lowers. Uppers are made of elite scientist, Astro-crops, bureaucrats they made up about 3% of the population. The Middles are are the farmers, the guard, teachers, doctors, the food processors, clothes makers and of course the mechanical maintenance workers. They make-up the 97% of the 10,000 counted citizens. The lowers are criminals and children born to un-paired parents. They live separated from the middles and Upper. In lowers you work in water reclamation or in one of the fish farms that supply protein to the ship. In the year 2149 Dylan De Rovia is trying to wrap her head around the idea that in two year's she'll be paired. That they call marriage on the Ark. Pairing is good most who are paired do end-up staying together because while genetics play good part in determining a match so does personality. Some people choose to use spend this time having a good time with as many partners as possible. Dylan however, vowed that she would never fall in love with anyone before pairing. The universe had other plans however, when Dylan learns that she'll pair with an Upper named Kyive Sinclar life gets more complicated than ever. Falling in love is hard enough falling in love in space that the story.
