After 1,000 years, Humankind has found the stars, forgetting about their home planet Earth. Unfortunately, their survival may require a trip home. Hana has done the impossible and gotten pregnant. Determined to save her baby, Hana relies on an ancient legend that states going back to the Human's planet of origin will not only save her unborn child, but also provide the solution to humanity's problem in being unable to carry children to full term. Too bad her ancestors forgot to write down the coordinates to their home planet. With the help of a young librarian and the sassy AI who drives their very pink cargo ship, Hana seeks out the route her people took across the stars to rediscover Earth, the lost cradle of Human life. But her clock is ticking and the galaxy is a hostile place full of nasty surprises. And to make matters worse, an alien agent with a prejudice against Humans is tracking her down to discover the legendary Earth for reasons that have nothing to do with life.

A.D. 3485 Missing out on the next semester of university was the least of my problems. Getting stuck on an alien planet was infinitely worse. It could have happened to anyone, really. Except they don't generally invite university students along to survey new planets. There are probably good reasons for that, but, well - the captain of the ship was my absentee mother, and an exception was made. I was supposed to have two whole months to get to know her better while I sharpened my Xenobiology skills in a verdant paradise. With any luck, I would graduate early. Then I messed up, big-time. Now I'm lost, alone and struggling to survive, stranded ten thousand light-years from home.
