While trying to get work done for a client and staying up way past his bedtime, Kaveh keeps passing out and having strange dreams. Eventually the events in the dream happen when he's awake, and he realizes he may have made the wrong kind of bargain.
Alhaitham has been struggling with the same nightmare while managing his day to day life as the Acting Grand Sage. Once he finds out Kaveh's been kidnapped, he's determined to prevent the nightmare from becoming a reality.
