"If you don't get out of my way, I'm going to shoot you," Silas says, his hand going to the gun on his hip.
"Okay. I dare you, shoot me," I snap back. I know he won't do it. He likes me. He likes me too much to harm me.
The next thing I feel is a sharp pain in my thigh and the sound of a gunshot making my ears ring.
Agent Cameron is a new member on a special hybrid task force that specializes in solving crimes. She finds herself more interested in her secretive team mate, Silas. Why does he wear a mask? Why is he so quiet, and, more importantly, why does he look at her when he thinks she isn't looking?
Maybe she should be paying more attention to the serial killer trying to murder her.
