Any other day, Mikaela might have been ecstatic to finally kick the bucket. Honestly, dying had been a long time coming, and he'd even have celebrated with a metaphorical drink. But those damn gods just had to kill him on a sunday afternoon? His sacred day off?
Oh, no. This wasn't reincarnation; this was blasphemy.
"The nerve of those bastards," Mikaela muttered to himself, fuming. He clenched his fists. "Killing me on my day off. MY DAY OFF! I'm gonna find those gods, barge into their heavenly domains, and personally slap every single one of them."
Plotlines? Predetermined fates? The integrity of the novel? To hell with it all.
Mikaela was a simple guy-a lazy, unmotivated teenager who lived his life with minimal effort and maximum procrastination. But now? Now the gods had forced him to abandon his precious vacation, and he wasn't having it.
If they thought he'd quietly play along with the storyline, they had another thing coming. The gods better start praying, because Mikaela-no, Hans, the supposed deputy butler-wasn't going to make this easy for anyone.
