Margaret was described as a fawn like beauty, long brown hair, big hazel eyes, soft olive skin, and a sort of innocence to her. She was clearly beautiful in the eyes of every young man in avonlea, but she didn't care for romance, what she really wanted was to write stories. Everyone knew she didn't come from great wealth, her parents being butchers and brothers working on farms around the town, but she dreamed to go to school. Her mother came to her on her birthday and announced she would be enrolled for school the upcoming week.
