Vasa, Prince/Chief of the Nymarith Kingdom and Dawn's sister betrothed, is just as determined to graduate, though for selfish reasons he wouldn't dare say out loud.
Being oh so infuriatingly prepared, he's the last person Dawn wants to be paired with even if it is for a month-long project.
So, there's tolerance on both sides. Until said tolerance turns into an unexpected friendship interwoven with rivalry. Dawn is motivated to do better while Vasa, although he'll never admit it, enjoys challenging her to reach every milestone.
Time passes, the project gets turned in. Dawn learns once again that giving your all is sometimes still not enough. Stubborn and upset, she makes an impetuous decision that impacts not only her but, more importantly, Vasa as well.
And though the choice gives them both what they wanted, shortcuts are always followed by a hell of a storm.
