He disappeared several years prior, through that narrow crevasse left of the old tower of Higard. Proferring peace to the enemies of the old empire, in search of treasure left behind in the wake of the great fire, or possibly hunting down the illusive Allmau fairy. To be honest, she wasn't too sure why he left, but Ahna was told to sit tight and wait - one day her father would return.

Of course there's only so long a person can wait; particularly when you're so young. Seconds feel like hours, minutes feel like days and anything longer is a form of torture. It's been some time now and Ahna has been planning her own expedition through the bramble marsh, up the canyon and into the deadland's of Allmau - she just needs that push.

A push come can in many forms, it just so happens that for Ahna it is in the form of one of Allmau's mythic fairies: an orfolk, named Kydd.

Stretch out your hand as wide as you can, from the tip of your thumb to the end of your pinky is as tall as you've bee from head to toe as one of these creatures. Add some height ontop for two large pointed ears, and some length in front and back for a pointed nose and dextrous tail, these little creatures are the true stewards of Allmau, but have come aross hard times since the fire.

Be it happenstance, fate, or the enigmatic aether: Ahna and Kydd's journey's are closely entwined, far more closely than either would actually expect.

Firstly: thanks for reading! I've just completed this story. I've posted this into WattPad to get some more feedback before another draft and I'm keen on getting some readers looking through and sharing their thoughts. There might (will) be a few errors dotted about, but hopefully nothing to disjoint the story - if you see anything glaring, leave a comment and I'll patch it up asap!

If nothing else, I do hope it gives some inspiration and entertainment. Enjoy!

Esme had one big fear in life: being captured as a thief by the city's guardsmen and being executed for her crimes, and that so heavily weighed on her mind that she increased her risks by being distracted in the middle of a heist. That's when she runs into Althalos Fourthborn: Inner Circle Guardsman, one of the many princes of the realm, an Aelif (Dark Elf, local dialect)...and her betrothed by treaty. (That was something her almost human mind could not handle.) So she calls off the heist, gets demoted into a far more risky job, learns the true bitter depth of what this treaty's bond is like, and lands safely by her prince's side....sort of. There were people who still wanted to end her life, even if she was in what most people would call a Happily Ever After. That and her prince had his own living fears that were gnawing at any chance they had. That and she might just lose her mind from everyday boredom. But the one she couldn't wrap her all-too human mind around was that she would one day grow wings and fly away from her almost Happily Ever After to live in a hive with ancestors more alien than a hottie with pointed ears and abandonment issues. ~~~~ Yes, there are adult themes in this book, and difficult subjects, but nothing is excessive, as this is probably my simplest story. So, trigger warnings: A history of assault. Occasional vulgar language. References to partial cannibaliam. Extremely mild, light, and rare sex scenes. At least one elitist mentality. ~~~~ Ages of MC/ML: Esme: Apparent age of 24, roughly 20 years lived (mostly human). Althalos: Apparent age of 30, roughly 65 years lived (Elves mature slower).

{COMPLETED} The stars disappeared seventeen years ago. A black night sky has mirrored a bleak existence for the people of Auros. The Gifted, humans with unique abilities to affect the world around them, have all but become extinct thanks to the dark reign of a usurper. And somehow Zephyr Elvy has managed to live her nineteen years in the blissful quiet of a small town next to the sea. Zephyr has always been content to keep to herself, and happy to live a simple, if uneventful, life. If only the universe had that in mind for her. Forced to flee the only place she has ever called home, Zephyr finds herself running through a world she has only ever read about, along with two soldiers who have deserted their posts to keep their consciences clean. With only a letter and a mysterious weapon as clues to why she's being hunted, Zephyr must face her own fears while discovering a whole new world of terrors at the hands of a queen she knows next to nothing about. Having never risked anything her entire life, Zephyr is forced to choose between apathy or action, hiding and keeping to herself, as she has always done, or taking a leap that could change the world she is just now getting to see. ***** Thank you SO MUCH for reading! I'm updating every Monday until this story is done, and I've been sitting on this one for almost three years so I'm really excited to finish it! I don't have any beta readers for this as I write, so please let me know if you notice anything, and I mean ANYTHING, that needs fixing! :)

[Watty's Shortlist & WATTPAD PICKS -- Up and Coming List 06.07.2018] Now Available on Amazon!!! His hands moved down to cradle her neck. "I only have one request if you're going to keep me in suspense all day long." "What's that?" The movement of her lips drew his eyes down. "Let me kiss you again?" That voice, breathy and low, set Taly's heart racing. His lips twitched at the corners-he could hear it. Now that he could use his magic, he knew exactly the kind of effect he was having on her. But he didn't move. He waited. Her choice. She set the pace. Taking a shaky breath, she jerked her head. Yes. *** Magic marked her for suffering. Magic will save her. Magic will lead her home. On Tempris, time magic is outlawed, and suspected time mages are hunted. Humans are second-class citizens, shunned by the immortal fey that live on the island. They even have a name for their kind: Shardless. Taly is one of the lucky humans. Taken in by a fey noble and his family, she's lived a good life, surrounded by people she loves. The Lost Life of Laraine by BearGoRawr

She lead a rather tragic life. The black sheep of her family due to her lack of affinity for fire. Her affinity was quite the opposite. Water in fact. Already in a time when women did not really have much political power or rights, she was outcasted by her family despite being of nobility. Still allowed to live in the distant west wing of the massive Grand Duke's manor, she has never eaten a single meal with her family nor extended family, and has spent her loneliness in her books and sword lessons. Although only taught by the head butler and one of the low ranked knights of the family, she was quite bright and if her family would have given her a chance she would have done great things. If only she didn't die at such a young age. Married off to some "hero" of sort that had slayed the Dragon of the North who was terrorizing the land and threatened the kingdom, this hero also had an affinity for fire and held her in disdain like the rest of her family. Suddenly a girl of another world was transported to their world, picked up by this hero and put into his secure care. The pair soon fell for each other despite the hero's marriage, and many believed Laraine got jealous of this girl of mystery, and tried to kill her. This was definitely not true. But because the girl was favored by the temple and kingdom Laraine was quickly arrested and put on trial. You can probably tell what happened to Laraine. But something strange happened the day of her execution. As soon as her decapitated head hit the ground the sky turned blood red and it began to rain fire. No one survived that day. But for some reason time went back, and Laraine was back to being a child, but with no memory of her future. There were select few in her life, however, that remembered her tragedy and now perhaps will take action to prevent it. NOTE: I'M AWARE THERE ARE A LOT OF INCONSISTENCIES. IT WILL BE EDITED SOME DAY BUT RIGHT NOW I'M JUST TRYING TO FINISH IT.

My heart raced as our lips met in a soft and hesitant kiss. It was as if time stood still, and all that mattered was the feeling of his lips against mine. Our lips met in a soft and tender embrace, and I could feel the warmth of his breath against my skin. The kiss was hesitant at first, as if we were both unsure of what we were doing. But as the seconds ticked by, our lips began to move in perfect harmony, exploring each other with a gentle and tentative touch. I could feel his hand brushing against my cheek, his touch sending shivers down my spine. My heart raced as I wrapped my arms around his neck, pulling him closer to me. His scent enveloped me, and I felt as if I could stay in this moment forever. *** When your life is shaped by an untrustworthy prophecy.... When your own life no longer belongs to you... Through thick and thin the Law shall prevail. A new sense of purpose awaits us, children of light, in the land where it all began. The darkness in which we once cowered in fear, now curbed by the might of our endless light. Come, brothers, come, sisters. Let there be peace among the wicked, just as the Law dictates. Peace and certainty is all that you have ever longed for, little angel. A bright, stable future. A roof without holes above thy head. Acknowledgement and recognition of thy existence, feverish dreams of grandeur. Greed born from yearning, treacherous vines of rapacity taint your innocent soul. You seek a future that does not exist. Let thy fingers hold the fragile line between dream and nightmare. Let thy light navigate the path. Shall thee give in and falter, O' land of old, envelop his body in thy unending flame of chaos. Spit out nothing but an empty husk, the remnants of a smile once so bright. Shall thee prevail, O', Great Kazdel, I ask of you, the impossible - take mercy on the innocent. Don't let the radiance dim and don't let the mind turn bleak. Wake, young traveler. Bid thy farewells and burn thy bridges. It's time to say goodbye, curly head. Cross post from AO3. For a shorter and more on-point description, look no further! I had something silly written up before throwing it out in exchange for that wall of text upstairs. It's a little story "about a young, dumb sankta who's been dealt a bad hand at life, looking for his place in all this mess. The pointless search for a better future leads him far, far away from home, to a country forever ravaged by war and misery - Kazdel, the promised land where devils roam free and peace feels out of place." Anyway, it's quite lengthy, but hopefully enjoyable? Slide a comment if you want, I'll give you a tiny kiss on the forehead. Man, do I love comments. (Lastly, to point out, English is not my native language, but I don't think it'll be much of an issue ;3)
