Life isn't so beautiful. Why do many make it out to be? There will forever be a bump in the road, a line you'll never be able to cross, a finish you desire but will never receive. Seventeen year old Seraphina Sullivan has the picture-perfect family. A nice house, loving parents, good at sports. No one genuinely knows Seraphina, though she keeps her name known for the sake of her parent's reputation. All Seraphina wants is to be seen, heard, loved with the type of adoration in her eyes that says "you're the reason I can breathe." There is so much more to her than her parents' light. When will she be able to shine? Eighteen year old Orion Kingston wants a new start. His past seems to be darkening his future, and he just wants to be free of this feeling of need. Needing to be someone he is not. Orion watches, listens. Everyone who sees him immediately talks to him for his looks. All he wants is for someone to see his heart. With his mother, who passed early on, and his father, who engrossed himself in work and partying, when would someone care for him. Someone who sees the true Orion. When two heart-restricted strangers cross paths, maybe their life can finally be different. Maybe they can be seen and heard the way they've always wanted. The question is, are they willing to let someone close enough to view their scars.

One night. One mistake. One picture. A thousand words. Olivia Booker was on top of the world. She was popular, had hoards of friends, and was invited to every major party Jamestown, Pennsylvania had to offer. She was close with her family - mostly - and she had a lifetime of happy memories to fall back on, even on the bad days. Then came sophomore year. One bad party. One dirty trick. One night that ruined everything. Now, two years have passed and Olivia is traversing through her senior year alone.
