The series takes place three weeks after the events of the previous series, where the Grid Warriors sacrificed themselves to save the city from the computer virus. The city is still reeling from the loss of the Grid Warriors, and the people are struggling to come to terms with what happened. Meanwhile, a group of five middle schoolers - Alex, Stacey, Jack, Kristy, and Kai - are going about their daily lives, unaware that they are about to be chosen for a great destiny. The mythical Gosei, a powerful being who has been watching over the Earth, appears to the five middle schoolers and chooses them to become the new Power Rangers, known as the Angelforce.
