"Who Are You, Are You?"

With the piece of fine art entitled "The Chasseur in the Forest" by the Romantic painter Caspar David Friedrich, I have created a short story based not only off of the scene in this painting, but also the artist's life and the philosophies of the art period in which he resides. This was an assignment for a class last year, and I thought it would be a good start in practicing my short story writing a little more on here.
A young French dragoon wanders aimlessly through a German evergreen forest, lost and terrified as he faces inevitable death, until he happens upon a peculiar meeting with a talking crow.
*Note: I am not religious. Any words about God in this story I have directly appropriated from Caspar's personal views and the philosophies of Romanticism.

The darkness in which we once cowered in fear, now curbed by the might of our endless light. Come, brothers, come, sisters. Let there be peace among the wicked, just as the Law dictates. Peace and certainty is all that you have ever longed for, little angel. A bright, stable future. A roof without holes above thy head. Acknowledgement and recognition of thy existence, feverish dreams of grandeur. Greed born from yearning, treacherous vines of rapacity taint your innocent soul. You seek a future that does not exist. Let thy fingers hold the fragile line between dream and nightmare. Let thy light navigate the path. Shall thee give in and falter, O' land of old, envelop his body in thy unending flame of chaos. The Black Bird
This is something I'm working on for fun and I'm not super great at writing so I apologize if some parts of this story comes off as iffy. The cover photo will definitely be changed at a later date so please, bear with me for a little. All art depicted on covers is all accredited to a friend of mine. It appeared suddenly without warning. There was no sign of it anywhere, it just appeared. No species on any world was prepared for it nor the chaos it brought. Its appearance was something miraculous, it healed the sick and blind, it awoke those in comas. As if it wanted everything to witness it in all its glory. But the chaos that followed was unprecedented. It changed the terrain of the world and turned society into pure anarchy. But he survived. It deemed him, this boy, as worthy. Now he has a simple task. Make it to the top of the structure, meet with God. What will he do when he meets him? That's to be found.
Of Men and Beasts
This is a folktale concept that came to me many years back, but it was only recently that I found myself able to shape it into the kind of story that I wanted. It's a bit longer and more detailed than my other short stories, about twice as long actually, which is why I've split it into two parts. Just to provide some context, it is meant to take place in a medieval, Germanic setting, shortly before the Protestant Reformation when religious fervor was at an all-time high. Deep in the forest lies a Sakura tree. Inside the Sakura tree lies a spirit. Inside the spirit lies a desire, a malicious desire for freedom and dominance. All it takes is a simple lie to make one cry. All it takes is one cry to be free for life. Note: This story is inspired by a game on Roblox called The Mimic. All the chapters are theorised lore and are ideas that I came up with. Take note that the chapters do not follow the chronological timeline of the characters' birth! I'm usually very busy because of school so the parts will not come immediately. Note that I am still quite young so I'm not very professional at writing and for some parts, I tend to get a little lazier and I also run out of ideas quickly.
