When she was only 7, her village was attacked by the humans and she was thought to be the last of the F'aomayina na'vi's. It wasn't easy, and when she found her way to the Metkayina clan they didn't fully accept her at first, but since the clan leader Tonowari was friends with the leader of the F'aomayina clan (her father), Tonowari and his family adopted her into their family, but just because she was now apart of Tonowari's family it didn't mean that the village wouldn't mock her for how she looked and how she wasn't actually one of them. She always knew that she was different, but when a family of forest na'vi showed up, she started to not feel left out and she felt more comfortable knowing she wasn't the only one there that wasn't actually one of the reef people.
