At 5: 43, Jade Evean was walking across her high school parking lot in Denver, Colorado when her life changed forever. At 5:44, a red truck came out of nowhere, shattering her shoulder and break her arm in multiple places.
To make things worse, Jade is the high school's best basketball player. Her injury threatens to bench her not only for the season, but for life.
Depressed and struggling, Jade finds a surprising friend in her little sister, Hope. Her relationship with her father growing worse by the day, Jade believes life couldn't get any worse. Yet Jade is kept sane by her sisters kindness.
But everything changes when her little sister, Hope, is diagnosed with lung cancer.
