Aurora, a 23 year old artist with synesthesia, has just moved to Brighton, England as an attempt to escape the problems from her home life in the US and chase the dreams she once had in college. She almost immediately discovers that her new apartment shares a wall with a noisy musician next door, a less than ideal situation. Aurora is faced with the question of what's worse, the sounds of his music through the walls all hours of the night, or her thoughts when it's finally silent? Wilbur, a 25 year old online content creator, is faced with two dilemmas. One, he has already seemed to be a nuisance to his new neighbor. And two, he fell head over heels for a random American girl in his local grocery store without as much as asking for her name. He feels haunted by the stranger, constantly finding pieces of her scattered through his day to day life. Wilbur has to find a way to smooth things out with his new neighbor and somehow track down the girl he met by chance. Note: This story is a parallel of their experiences- each chapter alternates following Aurora and Wilbur. Possible trigger warnings: This story contains themes of depression, anxiety, pills, and suicidal ideation. I find that putting trigger warnings above each chapter is kind of a spoiler. If you asked anyone they would tell you that Tommy's living the dream! He's an internet sensation and has the best friends anyone could ask for. But if you asked Tommy he would say he was far from perfect. Between his eating disorder and his homophobic father he can't help but hate himself. This is made even more apparent when things take a turn for the worst, something that even Tommy couldn't even predict. Will Tommy's friends be able to help him at his all time low or will his overwhelming thoughts get the best of him? Looking back, I really hate how I wrote this. As we all have been through quarantine, I have seen a lot of deteriorating mental health for a lot of people. I decided to write a heavier piece pulling from my experience and other people because bringing awareness to the alone-ness we can experience is important so we can all feel a little closer together. I felt it was also fitting recalling a tweet where Dream had reached out to a fan when they mentioned that they were struggling. Tommy did it, he jumped into the warm welcoming lava. If only Dream was a little sooner, maybe he just might be able to save him, but he was too late....now he'll have to see that his actions and his way of thinking can take others to point of hurting themselves.
