Children of a Betrayed Oath

It wasn't until the year 2098 when death lurked in every doorway as an unknown virus broke out, killing the population quickly and ruthlessly. I could still hear the piercing cries of mother's agony as they held their children's lifeless limp bodies in the darkness of the night.

I remember fires burning brighter and hotter by the second. I remember my old city's remains only to be ash and bone and the haunting ghosts of children whispering in the ears of merchants to get off their property.

At that moment, it seemed like the world was ending, and I wish it did.
